i  found this painting tonight

 thought you would get a kick out of it

~a little background~

im often  asked

 * have you always painted ?? *

YUP!!

when i was little ..if you asked me the token

what people

ask little kids question

 " so what do YOU want to be when you grow up?"

i always said

 " an artist & travel the world "

ok havent traveled the world ..

BUT

 have done the first part & sure have traveled

&

lived all over the united states!!

i was the little girl in the summer

drawing ..clay  

&

painting classes at the art center ..

... funny thing ..

it appears

* dogs *

 have always been my favorite subject!

...this is my stuffed animal ..

  i DO remember painting this ..

 i was 8 or 9

 as you know i am terrible at age ...

i actually thought i was 43 for the past 9 months!!

seriously ....... im losing it!!

OOOOOO what a week of adventures!!

last sunday

i ziplined..

yup

ME

i jumped off a 70 foot platform

&

 SOARED

now  some of you may
remember 

i like to do the monkey bars

(  nikki )

i started to do them after my sister passed away

she could do them

ALWAYS

me

NEVER
that
is
until after she passed

now

this is the 3rd spring

 &

i CAN do them

 

....now that i have moved...

 i have not seen

any bars

that is

until

today

:)

i spent mothers day biking around at the beach with colman

&

we came upon some bars!

...they were right next to the road...

in a empty lot

....no other playground equiptment....

just

old slippery wobbly bars

so we stopped

it took

2 takes

but guess what

!?!?!?

* i did it *

with it being the anniversary

of my sweet herbies passing

it was a bitter sweet day

* i know i can hardly believe it myself *

...you may ask why i call him sonshine...

..well duh..

look at that warm ray of light!!

i know im totally his mom huh?

 you know the song

"you are my sunshine"

right?

well

...i like many women had a rough delivery....

he was several days late

...his actual due date was april 23rd...

i will never forget the night before i went in to be induced

*may 4th*

i had a dream

 .....he was just hanging out ...

wearing a top hat

swinging a cane

doin' a little soft shoe

taking
 his
 own
 sweet
 time

*

the next day

....i sat at the hospital with babies being born all around me...

but

nope

not mine
 * 

 on

may 6th

they went in to get him!

my

"lusty"

sounding

goo-less baby was born

* seriously no goo *

but

....he was whisked away...

his lung had collapsed

....they put him in a tent....

a
bubble

 over his little

bucket crib bed

in the
 NICU

....i was terrified...

i was stiched up & brought in to him

all i could see from my gurney

...was feet...

huge

feet

!!!

to the gasps of nurses

i sat up freshly belly stitched

 &

i tickled those toes

*

24 hours later

....they brought him to me...

those 24 hrs

longer

 * than the 9 PLUS months until i laid my eyes on him *

we had to stay a few more days

then

he stopped breathing in my arms

my baby was blue.

....completely...

BLUE

i called the nurse screaming

his dad started CPR

...a band of nurses ran in...

 &

whisked him away

they saved him

& 

again

he was in

 NICU

*

i didnt sleep

....i sat in there & held my baby...

he was hooked up to soo many monitors

all the

beeps & false alarms

i held my baby & rocked him 

wires & all

...trying to drown out the beeps...

i sang the only song i knew

* you are my sunshine *

the night before he turns 15

i can honestly say

as i struggle to

make

my

mark

in the world

i  realize 

he
is
my mark

* 

my

amazing

mark
 has been

made
&
continues to be made
....every moment of every day....
 i cherish him
&
 his sweet soul responds

...for years through all the grief...

...when i thought i couldnt catch my breath...

she was there

by my side..

... doing the breathing...

... licking the tears ...

... holding me up ...

... spooning me at night...

... inspiring me...

... making me smile ...

...making me laugh until tears ran down my cheeks...

... she was the wink to my smile ...

she would wag her tail every time

...i walked in the room...

... every time colman walked in the room...

even when it seemed she was sound asleep

...she wagged her tail...

...you could fall on her...

she wagged her tail

&

gave kisses

...i told her

i was happy...

that

...colman was happy...

&

i could see

she

was happy

too

she would

sashay around me

&

...kiss me...

reminding me of

her

unconditional devotion

&

love

that it was time for her to go for now

a bell rang for 'hooray ruby'

my beauty has her wings now

too
